Plain text with optional attachments - capture anything in under two seconds.
Notes are the only item type in Boat. There are no "photo items" or "link items" - everything attaches to a note. A note is plain text with optional extras: photos, video, audio, a sketch, links, a location, a flag, a nudge, scores, and connections to other notes. None of those extras are required. Notes save to your device the moment you hit save - no internet needed. They sync to your Google Sheet in the background when you're online. A note with a single sentence is enough. Add a title, flag, or list later - or never. Scores Notes can be scored on custom dimensions you define per list - Impact, Effort, Urgency, or anything else. Score from 0–10 and sort or filter by those scores to surface what matters most. See Scores. Hooks A note can link directly to one or more other notes. The connection shows on both notes as a tappable link. Useful for source and derivative notes, related ideas, or anything that belongs together but lives in different lists. See Hooks. History Every meaningful change to a note - title edits, description edits, flag changes, list moves, media additions - is tracked locally. Tap the history icon inside a note to browse the change log. See Note History.
